SKI AREA / SAALBACH-HINTERGLEMM
The three separate ski resorts of Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Leogang are linked and forms, with 200 km of perfectly groomed slopes, a beautiful destination for winter sports. Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm is one of the liveliest and best connected ski areas in Austria. The 55 super fast and modern lifts ensure that there is hardly any queues are and every level winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy perfectly located in this area. Is the après-ski atmosphere of separate class and internationally known.
The area belongs to the five largest ski regions of Austria and has a lot of variation in capabilities. Beginners can enjoy themselves on the wide slopes of the Kohlmaiskopf, Bern ball or Reiterkogel. This attractive slopes are nice and wide and family-friendly. The real cracks may the steep descent of the 2,020 metres high and the World Cup circuit of the Schattberg 1984 metres high Zwölfer. Also for snowboarders and freestylers can enjoy. Outdoor fun parks and half pipes, there are even special snowboard slopes. Of the three snow parks there is one open until late in the evening so you even after sunset still ahead.
The name “ski circus” for the area is not only due to the excellent slopes and many activities, but especially the après-ski is of a completely different caliber. The party begins in the afternoon in one of the many wooden mountain huts or restaurants, where you can come together at the cosy wood heating devices . The villages of Saalbach and Hinterglemm are in all surroundings very notorious for the lively après-ski culture and are also very popular among Dutch people. “Long slopes and short nights”, is a commonly used slogan for Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
